OOTD:SPRING NIGHTS LOOKBOOK:SUMMER FLOWER CHILD HOME

Barcelona Part 2

Sunday 28 September 2014 / , ,

Barcelona has so many attractions that it made it difficult to decide where to go next,so little time so many things to do and see!On the third day day,we decided to visit the Arc de Triomphe which is a short walk away from the Parque de la Ciutadella.
The atmosphere was amazing, people are very welcoming and friendly, with loads of activities to do around if you're willing to take part, and obviously i had to get a picture looking like a fully certified tourist in front of the arc with my sunglasses and nearly finished  ice cream, the black top was a mistake because i was hot,but i wanted to keep my clothes and shoes casual as we did a lot of walking and exploring.

Entering Parque de la Ciutadella, more pretty palm trees!

This really is not your average park, with its grand  fountains, monuments and other features, there is a really peaceful and serene air about the place, after getting some more snaps we found a Boat Pond  which cost a small fee to loan one out,about 10 Euros for a group of 5,and there was no time limit imposed, they were quite relaxed about it.The Man responsible for these boats spoke English so lucky enough for us (who knew minimal to 0 of Spanish)made the negotiations hassle free.

As there was 6 of us we split in two different boats,we paddled to the middle, which is not as easy as it looks and takes a bit of arm strength but with a bit of practice anyone can do,one small kid put us to shame as he seemed to row effortlessly across the lake, while we ended up nearly losing one paddle overboard and unintentionally went around in circles for a while,my sunglasses were shielding me from more than the Sun,the embarrassment!lol. But we got the hang of it eventually, and rowed our two boats together in a less busy part of the lake and had some drinks under the Sun,the green colour of the water and the surrounding palm trees  gave me the feeling that we could have been in a south American swamp or bayou not in Spain!

After an hour or so we decided to go back mainland,we paddled back (nearly falling over board and when we collided with another boat) we relaxed  in the shade for a while, until we met circle performers practising in the park, they invited us to have a go on their tight rope that they had strung between two trees.

After all that boat rowing ,tight rope walking and lounging we headed out of the park for a much deserved lunch.

I changed into my Yellow and Blue Boohoo dress and
as we wanted to get some interesting landscape pictures we went to the outskirts of Barcelona to catch a good view of the sunset from a mountainous peak,I cant remember the name of the town we were in but if anyone recognises what the location is from these photos please let me know.

And after a few hours later of uphill trekking in sandals and receiving several insect bites, ...i got my shots, but it was all worth it :)
